Delivered new into Memphis Tennessee late in the 1970 year, this Mach 1 was one of the last mighty 428 "R" Code Cobra Jets built that year. The car eventually made its way to Texas and fortunately was never subjected to the inclement weather up north resulting in a wonderful solid, original body with which to restore. Fast forward forty plus years later to this ultra rare car being found and its concours, three year, 2000 plus hour restoration being completed just this year! The car is one of the nicest, freshly restored, rare, big block 1970 428 "R" Code Mach 1's in the Country! We have wonderful documentation including a framed Elite Marti Report detailing this car as a one of one car built with these options. Also is an original window sticker, door tag, owners manual, etc. Perhaps what makes this car so special is the fact that when ordered in 1970 this car was equipped with almost every option available at the time making it extra rare!
The paint and trim is all new or professionally restored with only the best components possible. The paint and striping has been faithfully restored right back to the way the car arrived at the dealer back in 1970. The original color of Medium Bright Blue Metallic is absolutely gorgeous and fresh with beautifully restored chrome and brightwork. Most impressive may be the exclusive, 1970 only, lower body cladding which has been correctly restored in every way! This car was equipped with matte black striping, rear sport slats, and a rear spoiler as well! The paint and trim can only be described as absolutely beautiful in every way and painstakingly restored over a three year period!

The fit, finish, opening and closing of doors, panel alignment, etc, has been painstakingly fitted during restoration and the door gaps and panel alignment are better than new! This car is laser straight and will make the new owner extremely proud. Since the car has all original metal and was never subjected to the salt, the car retains all of its factory spot welds in all of the important areas including the inner fender aprons and trunk area further lending to its wonderful authenticity! Under the car the original frame rails and body presents wonderfully and has been correctly painted first with red oxide and then the proper blue overspray patterns have been applied. Correct paint daubs and markings have also been faithfully reproduced under the car as well!
The Date Code correct 428 cobra jet engine has just been treated to a professional complete rebuild using only the best components. The engine was bored .20 over and test fired and tuned prior to installation. The engine has been detailed in the correct Ford blue and includes its original valve covers, water pump, distributor, smog system setup, intake, etc., which have all been restored and rebuilt. The factory original C6 automatic has been completely rebuilt and detailed as well as the driveshaft, and rear differential. The third member was detailed in the proper red oxide with markings as well as being completely rebuilt with the correct factory equipped 3.00 Traction-Lok gears. The driveline has all been professionally tested and the car has been driven sparingly and tuned since completion this year to ensure the car drives as good and strong as it looks!
The interior of the car is all new and restored and presents as such. The smell inside the cabin is truly that of "new car smell" and all of the gauges, radio, glass, seat covers, foam, headliner, door panels, etc., are either fully restored or the best quality reproductions one can get. The Corinthian White Vinyl interior with black carpeting and wood accents truly "pops" against the Medium Bright Blue paint. This color combination is not only factory original, but one that is truly striking and very "rich" looking.
