This 1970 AMC Rebel Machine is a very rare car indeed! With only 2326 Machines ever produced, and with only a little less than half painted in the very patriotic Red, White, and Blue, this example is "the one" to own! In 1970 American Motors built one of the most potent muscle cars of the era. The rebel machine could easily be tuned by its owner to run 12 second quarter mile passes and, even in stock form, was a 14 second rocket down the quarter! With a 10:1 high compression 390 pushing 340 horsepower and 430 foot pounds of torque among a host of other performance goodies, The Machine was feared by many other muscle cars produced by the big three. Partnered with Hurst, the AMC Rebel Machine was also equipped with a Hurst Performance four speed shifter connected to a stout heavy duty Borg Warner T10 transmission. The car was also able to be optioned with a 3.91 limited slip rear differential, which incidentally this particular Machine has! The car has wonderful history in that it is a 14,800 mile example and retains its original interior and numbers matching 390 engine and drivetrain. We have documentation on the car from the registry and all of the hard to find Machine parts are with this car including the impossible to find exhaust manifolds, vin tagged valve covers, press fit trim ringed Machine wheels, etc. The car is highly detailed throughout and is a blast to drive!

The correct factory Red, White, and Blue paint scheme shows very nicely! We know that the car has had one paint job professionally done sometime in the late 90s. We just had the paint buffed and waxed to a high luster and it really looks terrific. The Machine stripes and graphics are in excellent shape as well as all of the chrome and brightwork. This car gets so much attention both on the road and at local cruise nights in this color scheme that it is just incredible. Overall, the paint quality is very nice to excellent and will last for many years to come with minimal care!

1970 AMC Rebel Machine

The fit, finish, opening and closing of doors, panel alignment, etc. is extremely nice on this car. Having spent a lot of time down south as well as having 14,800 miles certainly has helped preserve the metal and unitized structure on this Machine. The trunk is extremely solid as well as all of the floors and torque boxes underneath. The underneath of the car is detailed nicely as well as under the hood on the inner aprons and firewall. All of the pinch welds appear ultra solid and we cannot find any evidence of any metal work on this car. She really is very very straight and solid! These old AMC's typically rusted in the rain, let alone when they were driven in any kind of inclement weather, however, time has been very kind to this example and it is a rock solid car structurally!

1970 AMC Rebel Machine

The original 390 engine starts right up and runs extremely well. We just had the car out this summer on a very hot and humid 89 degree day and it ran nice and cool with no issues at all! The transmission in this car shifts better than just about any other four speed classic car we have ever driven which is a true testament to both Hurst and AMC's design! Shifts are nice and crisp with a precision short throw seldom scene on these classic muscle cars from years back. The car has plenty of power and we recently freshened the car and serviced it mechanically to ensure it drives as good as it looks. The car runs and drives out great and has a great muscle car lope to its idle!

The interior of the car is very nice and appears all original! The original "Machine only" door panels with the chrome belt lines are present as well as the correct and original shifter and knob. The dash is absolutely beautiful with no cracks as well as the upholstery and headliner. We did replace just the foam only in the drivers seat bottom as it was deteriorating, however, we reinstalled the original cover and the additional foam for the remaining seats and seat backs will come with the car. We did not find it necessary to install any other foam and the seat covers themselves are in beautiful original condition! The spartan, black taxi cab interior that AMC deliberately installed in these cars to keep the price down has held up very well over the past 45 years and certainly is a testament to the care this rare muscle car has received and also the 14,800 original miles!

1970 AMC Rebel Machine

This 1970 AMC Rebel Machine is one rare car indeed! With only 2326 total Machines ever built, and just 1000 in the iconic red, white, and blue color scheme, seeing one of these rare muscle cars out and about today is a sight to behold! This Rebel Machine is a gorgeous example with just 14,800 original miles! We have documentation from the AMC Registrar showing letters from the original owner with verification of the mileage as well as all of the original "Machine only" parts including exhaust manifolds, special Machine wheels, air ram system, hood mounted tach, etc. The car retains its original numbers matching drivetrain and we have recently gone through the car mechanically to ensure it drives as good as it looks. This car is absolutely incredible and gets a ton of looks at the local car show!
