This factory Wimbledon White 1968½ Mustang GT Fastback is one of just 1,044 factory-built 428 Cobra Jet Mustangs produced during the mid-year introduction of Ford's legendary Cobra Jet engine. Even more impressive, it is a numbers-matching, factory four-speed car equipped with the ultra-rare factory 4.30 Traction-Lok rear axle, making it one of the most desirable Cobra Jets built.
Ordered with performance in mind, this car was delivered with blue standard interior, radio delete, manual steering, no fold-down rear seat, and virtually no unnecessary options, creating an authentic drag-strip-oriented muscle car. It is fully documented with a Deluxe Marti Report, owner's manual, period dealer literature, Cobra Jet 50th Anniversary memorabilia, and a personally signed Al Joniec photograph commemorating one of Ford's legendary Cobra Jet racers.
Finished in its original factory Wimbledon White, the paint is concours-quality with exceptional gloss and laser-straight body panels. The car retains the distinctive black 1968½ Cobra Jet hood treatment and factory blue GT side stripe, creating one of the most iconic and desirable color combinations of the era. Every finish, marking, and detail has been faithfully restored to factory specifications.

The GT wheels, trim rings, chrome, stainless, brightwork, and body fit are outstanding. Riding on brand-new Goodyear Polyglas tires, the car displays the perfect factory stance and appearance expected of a top-level concours restoration.

Power comes from the original numbers-matching 428 Cobra Jet V8 paired with the factory four-speed manual transmission and ultra-rare 4.30 Traction-Lok rear axle. The engine starts easily, idles smoothly, and delivers the unmistakable sound and performance that made the Cobra Jet one of Ford's greatest performance engines. With only approximately 25 test miles since its concours restoration, this drivetrain remains virtually fresh.

The factory blue standard interior has been beautifully restored and reflects the car's purpose-built performance heritage. Equipped with a factory four-speed, radio delete, and standard rear seat without the fold-down option, the interior is authentic to the original build specification.
Every component, including the seats, carpeting, trim, and interior finishes, presents as new. Correct factory details such as the Autolite floor mat and Dearborn inspection markings further reinforce the authenticity of this exceptional restoration.
