This car was owned for many years by a doctor who a good friend of ours knew. I was delighted when my friend phoned me and informed me that his doctor friend had decided to finally sell his prized 1965 convertible! The car was completely "ground up" restored some years ago and was lovingly maintained and driven sparingly to car shows over the years. The restoration looks like it was done recently and the car's fit, finish, and attention to detail is remarkable as well as being the perfect Rangoon (Bright Red) color with black pony deluxe interior.
The correct "J" Code Rangoon Red paint is gorgeous and presents very well as well as being the quintessential Classic Mustang color combination. GTS Classic Motors recently had the paint buffed to a show finish and it really turned out great. The chrome trim and brightwork is very nice on the car and one would be very proud to display this car at a local show or cruise night. The level of paint and prep work quality has held up very well over the years and the car truly "Pops" in this color combination!

The fit, finish, opening and closing of doors, panel alignment, etc. is very nice on this car. The quarter panels, doors, fenders, inner aprons, etc. appear very solid and original. Underneath the car has super solid torque boxes and frame rails as well as nicely detailed in a semi-gloss black paint. Overall, the car's body panels, and metal structure is very nice!
The 289 two barrel runs great in the car! The engine has been completely serviced and tuned up by GTS Classic Motors and settles into a nice idle with a classic muscle car exhaust note! The C4 engages positively into gear and the car goes down the road nicely. The engine bay has been nicely detailed, and the car really runs great! The addition of a dual exhaust system with GT exiting trumpet style tips exiting through the rear valance looks and sounds awesome!
The interior of the car was completely restored during restoration and presents wonderfully. The carpet is nice, the seat covers, foam, dash pad, etc. are gorgeous. The car has the Deluxe Black Pony Interior with the optional Wood Trim package, center console, and five-gauge cluster. The console, glove box door, door handles, and instrument panel are all wrapped in faux wood trim and really compliment the optional wood steering wheel nicely. This interior is not only in beautiful shape but is one of the classiest interiors offered in 1965! The original color white convertible top was replaced during restoration and presents well with no rips or tears. Overall, the inside of the car compliments the exterior in a way few cars nowadays do!
